September 2008 Newsletter


The September 2008 camp out was held at Ft. Cobb State Park. There was a total of 10 rigs present. The following members attended: Callahans, Griffins, Halls, Johnsons, Marshes, Owens, Rileys, Thrailkills, Tuckers and Irby Cheatham.  The host for this camp out was the Tuckers & Maxwells.  The Johnsons had guests, Willard & Sherry Nahrgang. The Johnsons & Nahrgangs had been fishing and provided the fish for The Potluck fish fry Saturday night.  Some of the men visited the local casino and some did some fishing.

The ladies ate at the Braums in Anadarko then on to Chickasaw.  The dining out for the club was to the Soda Fountain Eatery in Anadarko, all the club members thought the food was good.  The club thanked Johnsons and Nahrgangs for the fish for the Potluck.  The 50/50 drawing was won by Dennis Maxwell and Shirley Griffin.

BUSINESS MEETING:  Our President Dennis Maxwell called the meeting to order.  He welcomed our guests, Willard & Sherry Nahrgang. Our VP, Jim Johnson, reviewed our 2009 schedule. He commented on May 2009 campout at Canton Lake.  We have 14 sites at $17 per night.  The November 2008 Campout is going to be at the Cedar Valley RV Park in Guthrie, 5 - 8 Nov 2008.  Diane Johnson can order Hitchhiker knit shirt for $20-24 dollars.  Diane can take orders on anything but needs at least 12 items.  John & Debbie Riley's new email address: john.riley@cintel.net.


NATIONAL RALLY CANCELLED.  This information was provided after the meeting.

TREASURERS REPORT:  Karen Thrailkill reported that our balance was $1570.72.  There are a couple reimbursements to make for expenses from this amount.

SECRETARY REPORT:  Barry Barratiere was gone.  Carolyn Maxwell provided meeting notes.

CRAFT PROJECT: Karen Thrailkill will be providing information and instruction on a seasonal project that requires no sewing and all the supplies will be furnished.  This is a seasonal project and useful.

NEXT CAMPOUT:  We will be going to Red River Ranch, Thackerville, October 1-4.  The best way is down I35S to exit 5, take 77S to Red River Ranch.  We will have Brats and Hot dogs provided by the host, Barratieres.  Bring the fixings you would like.
