October 2008 Newsletter
The October
campout was held at the Red River Ranch RV Resort, Thackerville, Ok.
Some arrived on 9/29 & 30, most came in on 10/2 .We all departed on
10/5. To insure we all understand, this park was really bad. We
have been camping here for years. It appears that the management
has not done anything to improve the campsites. Many problems. I
do not think we will be camping to here in the future. That's
enough. Sand Burs, Sand Burs, Sand Burs, Sand Burs, Sand Burs, Sand
Burs, Sand Burs, Sand Burs.
Now the camp out - we had 7 rigs present - Barratieres, Callahans,
Griffins, Marshs, Maxwells, Thrailkills and the Tuckers. Doyle Rowe
did drive down to spend a couple hours with us. We all did get a
gift of $10.00 from the WinStar Casino. One day we traveled to
Sherman, TX. We visited Sam's and stopped at the Dairy Queen for a
break on the way home. Some of the members did eat at Cat Fish
Louie's a couple of times this week. We had the club house, we all
watched OU & Baylor plus the VP Debate. We had our own thoughts on
the out come of the debate.
On Saturday morning Karen Thrailkill held a craft class for the
ladies. The projects were really neat. Great for Halloween, thanks
Karen.
Earlier during the week a couple of newer Hitchhikers pulled in and
parked. As always we did start a conversation with one of them.
They were with the "Hauling Hitchhikers". This is a group of full
time Hitchhiker owners who just travel together. They met on the
Forum, which is on the nuwaowners.org. Later during the week our
president (Dennis) invited them to join us for our "Pot-Luck". They
did not make it for the "Pot-Luck", but they did join us for
questions and answers on their new rigs and the life style. There
were 3 rigs with them now. We had a tour of their rigs and a
demonstration of "Big-Foot". The 3 that did join us were: Greg &
Judy Bahnmiller (bahnmiller@hotmail.com),
Steve & Suzy Billings (hitchituphoney@gmail.com)
Jeff & Susan Collingwood (jeffcollingwood@cox.net).
We had a great discussion and enjoyed the tour of the homes. Thanks
Again.
Business Meeting: Our President Dennis Maxwell called the
meeting to order. Old Business; Members questioned the Christmas
Dinner. The Chair person, Inez Tucker, stated that each member will
be paying for there own meal of $11.00 per meal/person. Any past

Fame on December 13th, 2008, at 12:30. If you plan on attending you
must let Inez Tucker know by Nov 8th 2008.
New Business: Members present discussed doing away with the
"Host" family being responsible for a main dish at each camp out and
trying to organize who brings what to "Pot-Luck". A motion was made
and was seconded and passed by the members to reflect the above.
All Pot-Lucks will be Pot-Luck.
Members raised the question of saving funds for the club. One area
addressed was the Sunday Morning Breakfast. A motion was made that
effective with the up coming November meeting, that the Host family
not be responsible for the Sunday Morning Club breakfast from now
on. Coffee will still be provided prior to the devotional. This
motion was seconded and passed.

reservations at Canton Lake, May 2009.

Masters Dr, Guthrie, OK 73044. Phone 405-282-4478. The best way to
