November 2008 Newsletter

The November campout was held at the Cedar Valley RV Park, Guthrie, Ok. Some arrived on the 5th and had a little weather concerns. Most came in on 11/6 . We all departed on 11/9.  The park was really pretty good.  The clubroom was small but we made it work and it was cozy. We had a couple of nights of cards and games.  We did a lot of talking and just hanging out. We had a really good outing. We had 12 rigs at the camp out - Barratieres, Callahans, Cheatham, Claytons, Griffins, Johnsons, Marshs, Maxwells, Owens, Rileys, Thrailkills and the Tuckers. Bill & Loreta West and Donnie & Charlene Fink drove down to join us for lunch on Friday.  We all went to Lucille's in Mulhall, everyone enjoyed the food. The service was a little slow, but we all survived.

It was good to see Rhonda & John Clayton. Rhonda really looks good.  It was good to see Bill West out and on the road to recovery. (I hear they finally figured out what he has and the correct medication.)

A couple of notes for the December Campout (10-13).  We will be camping at Twin Fountains in OKC. On the 12TH  Dec, at 1pm we are to be at the State Capitol, Center Tour Area.  You can park in the Visitors Parking Area, South side of the capitol, south of Oil Rig.  You can drive up to the West side of the capitol to drop off those that can't walk real good.

We are looking at the Harn Homestead tour during this campout, but we have not confirmed anytime or day.  Call Barry if you want to go.  On Dec 13th we will be having our Christmas Dinner at the Cowboy Hall of Fame at noon. Make sure Inez Tucker  is aware that you are going.  Thanks to the Owens & West for hosting this camp out and for the great Sunday morning breakfast we all enjoyed.

Ho!  Ho!  Ho!
Let's have a holly jolly December campout and here's the deal.  Everyone bring a holiday joke or riddle with you and at some point, each person  will have the opportunity to tell or read theirs to the group.  We'll have a ton of laughs and some new comic material to share with family and friends later.  An Elf provided this.

Extra Extra, note the attention to detail in a rush to leave.

Thanks to John Riley for this contribution.
