January 2008 Newsletter
Our first club meeting for 2008 was held on January 12, 2008 at KENDALL'S
restaurant in Noble. We had 21 members present, Bonnie & Harry Harrison,
Cliff & Inez Tucker, Jim & Diane Johnson, George & Linda Hall, Dennis &
Carolyn Maxwell, Ron & Shirley Griffin, Drewman & Martha Marsh, Gene & Karen
Thrailkill, Zane & Lou Ann Callahan, Lu & Barry Barratiere and Erbie
Cheatham. We had a great meal and enjoyed each others company.
President Dennis Maxwell called the meeting to order and presented the
following topics and discussion: The club received a thank you letter from
The National Diabetic Association for our donation in 2007. Lack of campout
host for a number of campouts. If you would like to host a campout talk with
Dennis.
VP: Jim Johnson was going to be gone from mid July to end of Oct on a long
camping trip.
Treasurer: Karen Thrailkill provided the club an updated treasurers report
with a balance of $2326.51. Karen was to write a check to cover 10 units
going to Canton, TX for Feb, per Cliff Tucker.
Secretary: Barry Barratiere reported the Birthdays for January were Diane
Johnson 2nd, Mildred Boelte 10th and Ron Griffin 24th. Anniversaries:
Callahan's 15th and Thrailkill's 31st.
Wagon Master: Ron Griffin asked about information for Claremore campout
(July) Zane was to provide. Ron was to try and change date of Oct 07 campout
at Texoma from 2nd weekend to the 1st. This was to facilitate those going to
the HH International Rally. If 1st could not be made, leave it as is.
Old Business: Discussion about Christmas Dinner and how dinner was to be
handled. Talked about doing as was last year, going to the Cowboy Hall of
Fame and/or dinning out. Tabled until June.
New Business: Some discussion on hard copies of this News Letter being
mailed out. Those that want a hard copy mailed are to contact Barry. Some
discussion was on a February gathering for the club. George Hall was to
check on getting the Cattlemen Restaurant for Feb 9th, an afternoon meal.
Message to follow
Chaplin Report: Dennis provided us with the latest on health and prayer
request for our club members: Donnie Fink still at home with issues to
correct prior to going to Florida. Diane Johnson did mention that Mildred Boelte's brother in-law passed away and Mildred has to have surgery on the
15th. This was why they were not at the dinner. Ronda Clayton was also
mentioned concerning her last chemo treatment and up-coming surgery. We
understand Ken Hardy is in the hospital. Our prayers go out to all our
friends for a speedy recovery.
