November 2007 Newsletter

This month's campout was at Lake Elmer Thomas in Lawton. Those attending were the Barratieres, Boltes, Griffins, Halls, Johnsons, Owens, Marshes, Maxwells, Rowe, Thrailkills, Tuckers, Wests, and visitors from Ardmore, John and Carolyn Graysneck. The weather was almost perfect. We went to Mears for a giant hamburger and cobbler with homemade ice cream and then several took a drive over by Mt. Scott to view the wild life.

Because of bad TV reception we didn't get to watch OU beat Baylor, but we did watch the OSU game. We had a feast on Friday night, our hosts, the Owens and Maxwells, fried up a ton of fish with hush puppies and our ladies provided lots of good side dishes and desserts.

Saturday for lunch we had a choice of steak, pork chops, or chicken fried steak at the Riverside Restaurant in Medicine Park and thanks to Drewman we even got bread and a salad. The Barratieres, Marshes and Tuckers checked out a new park on the east shore of Lake Lawtonka. The Winnebago Club was there with around 30 rigs at $15 a day. The name of the park is Granite Point and it has full hookups and a club house. The phone numbers are (580) 429-8743 0r 678-2701 or 678-9334.

Also, if you wish to make an individual cash donation at the Christmas dinner, it will be divided between the Red Andrews Dinner for the homeless and the Freedom Cause which is a fund to help service men and women with the cost of telephone calls to family members during the holidays.

The traditional Christmas dinner with turkey and dressing will be @ Twin Fountains RV Park, 2727 N.E. 63rd in OKC. Karen will contact the Ladies concerning side dishes.
