Indian Springs RV Park - Anderson, MO

Missouri is a very beautiful state with roads that has lots of curves when you get off the interstate highway. The campground had nice facilities with lots of big trees which made it rather difficult to get our big rigs in some of the sites. The grandchildren of the Griffins and the Maxwells enjoyed building campfires and catching fire flies. Dennis and Carolyn took Raven, Skyler and Andrea on a float trip down the river and the grandchildren had a great time. The men were standing on the bank looking at the river when a huge sycamore tree fell with a loud crack. Talk about moving fast - they thought they had been shot. Those attending this month's campout, in addition to the Griffins and granddaughter Andrea, and the Maxwells and grandchildren, Skyler and Raven, were Callahans, Marshes, Thrailkills and Tuckers. We stayed around the camp a lot, but did manage a trip to Neosho to the Super Wal-Mart. Anderson had one grocery store, a five-and-dime type store and the Cottoneyed Joe restaurant where we ate Bar-B-Q and fish. We found a bakery/tea room that made wonderful sweet rolls. On Saturday the Thrailkills looked up friends living in the Neosho area. Our hosts, Callahans and Thrailkills, treated us with a delicious meal of roasted turkey breast with dressing and gravy and the other ladies furnished cranberry sauce, cheese potatoes, green bean casserole, salad, hot bread, tea and coffee and desserts of butterscotch pudding with cream cheese and chocolate cake. That meal would sure be worth repeating - say around the December campout. Sunday morning the hosts served hot biscuits, sausage gravy, honey, jelly, coffee and juice.

Dennis gave the Devotional on, "Searching". God made us all with the capacity to love and we all search for it in different ways, but only the acceptance and the love that comes from God can satisfy that void.

On Sunday morning the Callahans, Thrailkills, Marshes and Tuckers dropped by Branson for three days and enjoyed some shopping and shows. Ask Gene about his whipped cream breakfast at Bob Evans.

BUSINESS MEETING: President Thrailkill called the meeting to order June 9th at 6:40 p.m. Minutes approved as written. A correction in the March newsletter - our new members are Mildred and Dennis Boelte not Mildred and John - sorry for the goof. President Gene requested a copy of the newsletter and a 2007 revised campout schedule be sent to the new Hitchhiker owners, who purchased rigs from Floyd's RV, with a special invitation to visit our campout at their convenience.

The site committee, Dennis, Zane and Cliff, met June 9th. The following is the tentative schedule for 2008:
