Greenleaf State Park - Braggs, OK

Our campout this month was in eastern Oklahoma's Green Country. It was HOT! But one thing about our club, we always have a good time regardless of the circumstances. We had a misunderstanding between our club and the RV Park on the availability of the clubhouse. We thought we had it from Wednesday through Sunday AM, but they informed us it was not available Saturday or Sunday morning. When we left the park, it had not been used on Saturday or Sunday. The members attending the campout were the Barratieres, Callahans, Cheathams, Griffins, Marshes, Maxwells and Grandson, Tucker, Doyle Rowe, Thrailkills, and Granddaughter, Abby, and Tuckers. We enjoyed having the two three year old grandchildren at the campout. It was a lot of fun and they had a ball swimming at the pool and having friends (big and small) to play with. Carolyn said "thanks" for helping entertain the little ones. Of course, the highlight of our campouts is always FOOD! We had "Build a Mountain" on Friday night and on Saturday for lunch we all traveled over to Tahlequah for Pizza at Simon's and Ella's and then on to Porter, OK for peaches and homegrown tomatoes. On Saturday night, we had a buffet dinner at Fin & Feather restaurant.

BUSINESS MEETING
President Thrailkill called the meeting to order Friday, August 10th at 6:10 p.m. The minutes as published in July newsletter were approved. Martha reported our treasury balance is $2,380.50. This includes the funds for our Hitchhiker shirts and jackets. Diane has different size shirts and jackets for those who would like to check sizes and she will be in OKC, Thursday, the 16th. Call her mobile #405/826-6716 or home #580/726-5373 for appointment. Gene inquired about a H/H Banner that we might use at future campouts and was told we have one stored in Cliff’s building. Gene thanked John Clayton for our H/H Web site. REMEMBER: the newsletter will be on the web page for those with computers, all others will receive a hard copy.

50/50 winners were Zane and Doyle, $11.50 each, and $23.00 for the Club.

Prayer Requests: We especially remember Rhonda, John and family as they wait for information on surgery for Rhonda and the follow-up treatments ahead. Also, Shirley for difficult health problems and for correct diagnosis. Tommie under the Dr's care. Lu for torn ligament in her foot. Lou Ann still having tests.
